Cards shuffling
Probably each of you know the situation, when one person who is quickly and dexterously (and sometimes even spectacularly) shuffling cards, automatically gains recognition and respect at the table. 1. Game start.
Most of the games using full pack of cards we start by laying down all the cards with indexes faced up. Each of the players can than check whether any of the cards is missing and any of them is not doubled.
2. Mixing
His is the simplest and the most effective way of cards shuffling, in common use specially after unpacking new pack of cards, where all of them are arranged by sequence and color. The cards need to be laid on the table faces down and mixed by croupier by doing circular hand moves. You need to be careful not to turn over any of the cards or let any of them to fall of the table.
3. Cutting cards
This is a simple and quick way of cards shuffling. We grab some cards from the top of the pile and put them under the other pile, we make this move repeatedly. Notice! Cutting cards should never be the only way of cards shuffling before next split. It can be only a supplement shuffling.
4. "The Riffle Shuffle"
The most popular and reliable style of cards shuffling, however it`s being carried out by most amateurs incorrectly or carelessly. We divide a pile of cards in two more or less equal parts. Both piles we move closer to each other with inner top corners (looking from the person`s, who is shuffling, point of view). We hold the piles with three outer fingers of each hand on the cards edges, forefingers pressing top outer corners, thumbs lifting inner corners and gradually releasing cards form under the thumbs, so that the cards will be dropping evenly from both piles overlapping each other. Than we pull both parts of piles on each other and smooth out the edges.
